Krüger was overjoyed after his gold.

- Maybe I got a little extra energy from that.

Thanks for that William!

answers Krüger at SVT Sport.

Poromaa drove into the booth and threw his rods into Hegstad Krüger's booth which was closest to the right.

The Norwegian had time to change skis and poles and put Poromaa's poles back in the correct booth before he skated out in search of leading Sjur Röthe.

Despite the pole confusion, Krüger made the change in eight seconds, one behind Röthe.

Johannes Hösflot Kläbo lost important seconds when he was in the booth 14 seconds.

"He managed it well anyway"

- I heard that I put my rods in Simen's booth, which was perhaps less good, but he still managed it well.

Maybe he got mad at me and got an adrenaline rush before he managed to become world champion?

That's what went wrong - otherwise it was a quick and good change, says Poromaa.

It was a deadly sight when the rods returned across the Swedish-Norwegian border.

- There were suddenly some sticks flying there, but it went great.

I felt it was important to be quick there and it didn't take much time to get the bars out and maybe I got a little extra energy from that.

Thanks for that William!

says Krüger and the smile grows.

You didn't get mad at him?

- No, I wasn't.

If I hadn't put the skis on properly, it would have been a different matter.

Now the change went so well that everything was under control, says Krüger, still emotionally touched by his victory.
