NHL icon Dominik Hasek: "If I watch the NHL, I see dead people"

Dominik Hasek is sharply critical of the NHL as an organization and commissioner Gary Bettman.

In an email to SVT Sport, the NHL responds to the criticism.

"The league's position regarding our Russian players has been clear and unchanged since the war in Ukraine broke out.

The commissioner has been asked about it several times and there is nothing new to say," writes a press spokesperson and continues:

"Dominik Hasek has been a vocal critic over the past year.

He is entitled to his opinion.

I don't think he speaks for the Czech Parliament or the Czech people, but he is entitled to his opinion.

Incidentally, I do not agree with that opinion.”
