The last time Washington went scoreless through six games was in October 2003. That was before the NHL had a salary cap, and before Alexander Ovetchkin was even drafted.

A completely different era in the history of the league, that is.

"Sucks when it gets like this"

But last night, when Washington lost 2-4 at home to Anaheim, Washington went scoreless for the sixth straight game.

- I think we played a good game tonight, but we didn't score enough, team captain Alexander Ovetchkin told various journalists after the game, and continued:

- We just have to keep playing.

It sucks when it gets like this, but there's nothing we can do now.

Comeback of Ovetchkin

Washington is right now, where most teams have 20-25 games left to play, a bit away from a playoff spot.

"We still have a chance to go to the playoffs," said Ovetchkin, who made a comeback after missing four games due to the death of his father last week.

- It was OK.

That I'm back is a good thing.

It felt better with each change.

- It has been a tough time for me, my family and my friends.

But that's how life is.

He will be in my memory forever.

Two of Anaheim's goals were scored by Swedes: Isac Lundeström and Jakob Silfverberg.
