In the middle of the sprint final at the WC in Planica – where the Swedes finished first, second third and fourth – drama unfolded before the final climb.

Behind the top duo Jonna Sundling and Emma Ribom, Maja Dahlqvist placed herself in front of Linn Svahn, who lost speed and finished fourth.

- You can always say about, and about, and about afterwards.

But I had hoped to back Jonna and Emma when they set off for the last hill.

I spiked her skis and she pushed me off the track.

It is as it is, says Linn Svahn to SVT Sport.

- Now me and Maja wrestled quite a lot in the final, and it took a lot of effort.

Was it rude or is that what happens in sprints?

- No, I think Maja and I are the ones who can really go hard on each other.

Then it becomes hard against hard.

There is no one I think deserves an individual medal more than Maja.

But it's sad because it felt like I could have done more than a fourth place.

I'm proud of it though.

"Not overjoyed for the medal then"

For Maja Dahlqvist, who won her first individual WC medal thanks to the bronze, there was no joy at the finish line.

- When I crossed the finish line, I was a little anxious for Linn because it was tight there on the last hill.

I wasn't completely overjoyed for the medal there and then, but now I'm happy, says Maja Dahlqvist.

What is it like to balance those thoughts?

- A sprint is a sprint and it's a shame that it was Linn and me.

I don't know what I could have done about it, we were heading towards the same track and I was slightly ahead.

It sucks but I'm happy that I won a bronze medal.
