Several sports, including fencing, climbing and skateboarding, offered for sale for a week in packs of at least three tickets for the next Paris 2024 Olympic Games which begin in a year and a half, are already exhausted, we learned Tuesday from the organizers.

Open for a week to people drawn by lot, the ticket office for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has been a great success.

Several sports such as climbing, fencing or skateboarding are no longer available.

"It's going very well, very strong. In less than a week, we already have sports that have left, but only for this sales phase", explains Paris 2024.

The lucky ones who were drawn among the 3 million registered in the draw for this first sales phase with three million tickets at stake, but only in packs of three tickets minimum (30 tickets maximum), can no longer no longer have access to seven disciplines.

On sale since February 15

Fencing, climbing, BMX free-style, BMX Racing, skateboarding, triathlon and breaking are indeed "no longer available", specify the organizers.

The sale by packs began on February 15, with nearly a million tickets out of the three million on sale, accessible from 24 euros.

Among the sports most in demand during this first phase are, in order, athletics, beach volleyball and football, assure the organizers.

"But not all the tickets for these sports, which are already sold out, have gone on sale during this first phase", indicates Paris 2024, "those who want tickets for these sports will be able to try their luck during the second phase of sales at the retail".

Seven million additional tickets from March 15

Indeed, from March 15, a new sales period opens during which nearly seven million tickets will be on retail sale, covering "100% of sports sessions", specifies Paris 2024. Once this first phase of sale by packs ended, "when the attraction for the packs will be declining", explain the organizers, a new draw will be made from March 15 to April 20, for sales starting on May 15.

This sale by packs, unprecedented, sometimes seems confusing for some buyers, forced in particular to compose packs with certain sports that they did not necessarily want to buy.

"The dissatisfied will be able to benefit from a ticket resale phase which will take place later", specifies Paris 2024.

In total, nearly 13.5 million tickets, 10 million for the Olympic Games and 3.5 million for the Paralympic Games, will be on sale.

The planned ticketing revenue should bring in nearly 1.4 billion euros, including hospitality (high-end packages), i.e. one third of the budget of the Olympic Games Organizing Committee (Cojo), which is 4.4 billion euros. euros.
