At the end of January, Ida Dahl became ill with covid-19.

After that, she didn't quite get back to her previous greatness and finished in – for her part – a modest fifth and fourth place respectively in the two subsequent races.

Magni Smedås, who won both competitions, therefore overtook Dahl in the overall standings.

But on "home ground" in Orsa, Dahl from Östgöten was more like himself from earlier in the season and was able to rise to the top together with Emelie Fleten.

The duo pulled away from the rest of the field after eight kilometers and were able to keep the distance down for the remaining four miles.

As it approached the finish line, with about seven or eight kilometers to go, however, Ida Dahl was able to pull away from Fleten and the gap grew with each stroke of the pole.

She finished a full 40 seconds ahead of Fleten and took her fourth win of the Ski classics season.

- There is one girl who was better than everyone else today.

There is no doubt that Ida Dahl is in great shape and has been the strongest skier today, says SVT's expert Anders Blomquist.
