The Japanese national baseball team will enter a training camp in Miyazaki City from the 17th for next month's WBC = World Baseball Classic.

At the training camp of the Japanese national baseball team held in Miyazaki City, the major league pitcher Yu Darvish of the Padres, Lotte's Aki Sasaki, and Yakult's Munetaka Murakami, will not be able to join the Angels Shohei Otani because of the major league camp. A total of 26 representative members will participate, excluding 4 players such as players.

Manager Hideki Kuriyama, who advocates ``defensive baseball centered on pitchers'' for the WBC, has selected 15 pitchers, which account for half of the representative members, because the number of pitches is limited in the tournament. Attention will be paid to the shape of the pitcher relay from the four pitchers who are expected to be appointed in the training camp.

On the other hand, we are looking for fielders to be able to play multiple positions, and at this training camp players from each team will check their defensive aptitude.

However, since fielders belonging to major league teams do not participate in the training camp, there are only two players registered as outfielders.

The training camp will be held from the 17th to the 27th of this month, and a send-off match with Softbank is scheduled for the 25th and 26th.
