China News Service, Beijing, February 15th (Liu Xingchen) February 5th, the Lantern Festival.

At the Century Star International Ice and Snow Sports Center, figure skater Zhu Yi did not choose to spend the festive season with his family, but was still stationed at the training ground in Beijing.

At the time of the interview, she had been training for a week after the Spring Festival holiday.

In order to reduce commuting time, Zhu Yi lived in the dormitory of the base athletes.

Zhu Yi's mother was at the entrance of the venue half an hour earlier than the agreed interview time.

"I haven't seen Zhu Yi for a few days, and I didn't come back when I asked her to go home." When talking about her daughter, she always has endless things to say.

Ten years ago, Zhu Yi's mother quit her job to devote herself to her daughter's figure skating practice.

When he came to the warm-up hall, Zhu Yi was wearing a purple fleece jacket over his sportswear.

The staff around said that this was the clothes she wore in the last interview, but it was five years ago.

Introverted, humble, and cute, this is the first impression of 20-year-old Zhu Yi to reporters.

Compared with her peers, she has a more mature temperament.

On February 15th, it was exactly one year since Zhu Yi finished competing in the Beijing Winter Olympics.

At that time, her ice dance was unspeakably brilliant.

"I am an ordinary girl, I love China, and it is a great honor to represent the Chinese team." Zhu Yi said this during his trip to the Winter Olympics.

As time went by, she described the past year as "a long-term career, a man-made life": What can't break you will eventually make you better.

This is the true portrayal of Zhu Yi since he came into contact with figure skating.

sleeping in training clothes

Zhu Yi was seven and a half years old when the Vancouver Winter Olympics ended.

By chance, she followed the children of her mother's friend's house to the ice rink and got acquainted with figure skating.

"I like jumping very much, and I am fascinated by this sport."

A year later, Zhu Yi began to receive professional training, and the frequency increased from two to four times a week.

At the same time, she also takes care of school courses, catch up on sleep, eat breakfast, and change clothes, which can only be done in the car.

Regarding the days of training as a child, Zhu Yi recalled, "My home is far away from the ice rink, and the traffic in Los Angeles is congested. When there is training in the morning, I will sleep in the training clothes the night before to save time for the next day."

In 2018, decided to return to China

In early 2018, the US Figure Skating Championships took place at the San Jose Center in California.

In the newly promoted women's singles skating competition, Zhu Yi won the championship with a near-perfect performance.

Soon, this talented girl received an invitation to represent China in figure skating.

"Yuyou" is Zhu Yi's nickname, which is taken from a couplet in "Yellow Crane Tower", "The yellow crane will never return, and the white clouds will be empty for thousands of years".

Zhu Yi's father is from Hubei, and "Yoyou" entrusts his family's homesickness, "My parents also hope that I can live a leisurely life."

This feeling made Zhu Yi resolutely decide to join the Chinese figure skating team.

That year, she was 16 years old.

"The Winter Olympics will be held two years after I graduated from high school. It takes a lot of energy to prepare for the competition, so I want to take a two-year break from school and postpone entering university." Talking about this choice, Zhu Yi said frankly that he does not regret it.

injured

After deciding to return to China, Zhu Yi increased the difficulty of jumping in training.

At that time, she was in a developing stage and her physical condition was not ideal, and minor injuries often appeared.

The time came to July 2018. Zhu Yi made a mistake in jumping and landing on the ice during the preparations.

The huge impact severed Zhu Yi's ligaments and veins, causing fractures in the bones of his feet.

After emergency treatment and five stitches, she entered a long recovery period.

The wound that did not heal for a long time made Zhu Yi ooze body fluids once his right foot touched the ground.

During an examination four months later, the doctor found a piece of sponge from a skate in Zhu Yi's wound.

It was this foreign body that made it difficult for her to recover.

Even so, Zhu Yi still participated in the National Figure Skating Championships at the end of the year and won the fourth place in the women's singles.

Three months later, she officially underwent surgery.

"This injury had a serious impact on his career. I almost gave up at the time, but I'm glad I persisted." Recalling that time, Zhu Yi still has lingering fears.

In October last year, Zhu Yi suffered a new injury to his foot and was diagnosed with ankle synovitis.

A layer of pads to protect the ankles is placed on a thin sock coat, and then a layer of thin socks is put on.

This kind of movement is what she has to do every time before going on the ice after adapting to chronic injuries, to relieve the pain and protect her feet.

"The Winter Olympics changed the trajectory of life"

Standing at the moment, Zhu Yi used "riding a roller coaster" to describe his mental journey during the Winter Olympics, but the tone of the story was quite calm.

The story begins with the Olympic trials.

One month before the start of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Chinese figure skating team organized trials.

The best results in four of the five games will be ranked, and the player with the highest total score will be eligible for the Olympic Games.

"We fought until the last moment. I was ranked second in the last competition, but Lin Shan made a relatively big mistake in the free skating, and I was lucky to win."

The performance during that time was considered by Zhu Yi as her most satisfying so far.

But when the news that Zhu Yi represented the Chinese team in the Winter Olympics was announced, doubts arose everywhere.

She, who was unknown at the time, was suddenly attacked on the Internet.

"Being involved in the whirlpool of public opinion made me unprepared, and I really want to prove myself in the Winter Olympics."

Four years of preparation, once on the field.

It's a pity that Zhu Yi didn't get the favor of the goddess of luck.

The women's singles short program of the figure skating team competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics, Zhu Yi's Winter Olympics debut.

After stepping on the ice surface of the Capital Gymnasium, she found that her psychological endurance had reached the upper limit. "When I started to perform, I felt that my legs were not my own."

When various emotions were intertwined, Zhu Yi played abnormally in the first game.

Even though she tried her best to adjust her status afterwards, her performance still failed to reach the average level of the past.

In Zhu Yi's view, the Winter Olympics changed the trajectory of her life, which she would call a baptism of body and mind.

"After losing the game, I have to adapt and adjust. The process is a struggle. But I have experienced and overcome it, and I will not be at a loss in the future."

This passage became the conclusion of her recollection of her trip to the Winter Olympics.

If time could be turned back, Zhu Yi bluntly said that he would still choose difficult movements in the Winter Olympics to challenge himself.

Make more contributions to Chinese women's figure skating

In the past year, Zhu Yi went to many places to experience the landscape and human feelings of the motherland, and also acquired an additional identity: an undergraduate psychology student at Peking University.

In her words, after entering the campus, most of her energy was devoted to preparing for the exam.

"Mathematics is more difficult to deal with, and it is very difficult to take multiple mathematics courses." Zhu Yi was quite satisfied with the final grades of last semester, and one of the courses scored 93 points.

In life, Zhu Yi is casual, low-key, and sometimes even socially fearful.

In addition to training, she likes to draw the sky and clouds to adjust herself.

During the conversation, Zhu Yi introduced some small hobbies.

"Always tie the left skate first, and reward myself with ice cream when I score."

After the Winter Olympics, she always uses videos to record her life to let the outside world know more about herself.

"Recently, I will be on the ice twice a day, and I am returning to triple jumps."

Talking about the future, Zhu Yi hopes to make more contributions to Chinese women's figure skating.

"I have foreign training experience, and now I have learned the knowledge of psychology. I hope to combine them and apply them to our country's figure skating career in the future."

"Yi means change. I hope she can make changes in her life." This is the inner meaning of Zhu Yi's name.

After dancing to a song, Zhu Yi, who has experienced turmoil, longs to become the protagonist of the ice rink again, as she once wrote: May each of us, like fireworks, have our own splendor.
