National team star Dalila-Lilly Topic belongs to German Münster and has not played a match for her club team since last autumn.
Now the 25-year-old center goes out on his social media and tells why.
“Recently I was diagnosed with an unusual autoimmune disease.
which unfortunately caused me to pause my career.
I have to take care of my health and I'm taking it step by step, I will fight to get back on track but I don't know how long it will take.
I'm still trying to process it myself and I plan to provide more details when I'm ready," Topic wrote on Instagram.
The Swedish Volleyball Association supports Topic, which has started treatments in Germany.
"Lilly is having a tough game off the pitch right now and we support her as much as we can.
She receives good medical support through the club in Germany and now we hope that the treatment will go well.
Volleyball doesn't feel important in situations like this, but of course we hope to see her back on the court in the future," says Simon Dahl, secretary general of the Swedish Volleyball Association.
