For eleven years, Karl-Erik Nilsson has been the chairman of the Swedish Football Association.

But on March 25, he will leave his post.

Fredrik Reinfeldt, Lars-Christer Olsson and Hélène Barnekow were the three main candidates that the election committee presented at the beginning of the year.

Now the selection committee has had its say.

Sweden's former Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt is the proposal.

"We have listened to the entire movement and unanimously decided that the Nomination Committee's proposal for the position of chairman of the Swedish Football Association is Fredrik Reinfeldt," writes the Nomination Committee in a statement.

At the confederation meeting at the end of March, the new chairman will be elected, and those entitled to vote at the meeting are the district confederations and the clubs within Swedish elite football, the two highest leagues, on the men's and women's sides.
