The Swedes got off to a tough start to the five-nation tournament after losing 5-2 to the Czech Republic, followed by a display and win against Switzerland 5-0.

The match against Germany continued in the same vein.

In the first period, Elin Svensson scored 1-0 after just over seven minutes.

The 16-year-old, who took JVM silver earlier this winter, broke the deadlock after some fine preparatory work.

Then it flowed.

AIK forward Hanna Thuvik added just under three minutes left in the first period.

Lova Blom, who scored in the previous match, extended the lead at the end of the second period to 3-0.

Blom thus scored his third national team goal of the season.

The statistics speak for themselves.

After 40 minutes of play, the Swedes had, among other things, a shot record of 24-10.

The final score was later determined by Sofie Lundin in the third period to 4-0.

The women's crowns meet Finland next on Sunday.

The tournament in Germany is the last before the WC in Canada in April.
