When Petter Granberg, 30, last played with Tre Kronor, he was 23 years old and belonged to the NHL team Toronto Maple Leafs.

Now he has been back in Skellefteå for a long time and on Sunday he was asked by the national team captain Sam Hallam if he wanted to replace the injured Anton Lindholm in the squad for the EHT tournament in Malmö.

Last Thursday, he was on the ice when Sweden lost against the Czech Republic.

- It was fun to play.

Sad to lose, but fun to play.

I grew into it more and more.

It took a few changes and some time to get into it, but then it felt stable, he says.

Was there tension before?

- It's clear, but that's the way it should be.

You are a little nervous and tense about what is to come.

It was a bit nervous.

Granberg talks about what it was like to be selected.

- It was last Sunday that I got the call and I was surprised, he says and continues:

- It was obvious to say yes, but you were surprised and shocked every now and then.

I had to digest it.

Ten years ago, Granberg was part of the team that won WC gold in the Globen.

He hopes to complete the circle by joining later this spring.

- It is clear that it is nostalgic for me when you talk about the WC, since ten years ago.

But I take it one day and one game at a time.
