Swedish Mika Zibanejad decided when his New York Rangers defeated Vancouver at home in the night's NHL ice hockey.

Zibanejad led 4-2 just over 16 minutes into the third period.

But the two-goal lead only lasted eleven seconds, when Vancouver's Elias Pettersson responded by reducing.

However, there was no equalizer, the match ended 4-3 to Rangers, who thus took their third straight victory.

Approaching Nylander

The goal of the night was Zibanejad's 25th of the season - only Toronto's William Nylander has scored more this season among the Swedes with his 28 goals.

- It's not the way I usually score goals, but I play with Panarin.

Then you have to find different ways to get to the box and create chances, Zibanejad told Sportbladet after the match.

Pettersson: "Not enough"

Elias Petterson's 4-3 goal was his 22nd of the season.

- We made it an even match, but it wasn't enough.

We learn from it and move on, says Elias Petterson.

Vancouver's JT Miller tallied an assist to score his 500th career NHL point.

Joel Eriksson Ek scored a goal for Minnesota in the meeting against Dallas.

It was Minnesota's only goal in the match, which ended 4-1 to the home team Dallas.
