When Sebastian Samuelsson came in for the penultimate shot during yesterday's mixed relay, Sweden was fourth.

But three penalty rounds crushed Sweden's chances and in the end it was nine.

- We had a long conversation with Sebastian and said "drop this now, now we just drive forward".

It is important that we all remember that it is a long championship, it does not matter how it goes at the start.

We know what we can do and we will try to achieve that now, says coach Johannes Lukas to SVT Sport.

"Everyone is trying their best"

The reason for the poor shooting was that the screws that hold the rifle in place were loose.

- In biathlon, something always happens.

You shoot at the wrong board, you forget the magazines.

But I hope it was the last time something like that happened to us, says Lukas.

Peppe Femling also spoke to Samuelsson yesterday.

- We have talked a little, but that is what happens.

I have been involved in it myself.

Everyone knows that everyone is trying their best.

It's not a big deal, but sad that it happens, he says.

Looking ahead

Sebastian Samuelsson describes the event as overwhelming.

- It was obviously a very difficult experience during the race yesterday.

After that, I think I received a lot of encouragement from many people.

I'm on my feet today and looking forward to the sprint, he says.

Was it nice that there was an explanation for the weak shooting?

- It's nice considering the continuation of the WC.

If it was just my shooting yesterday I would have been worried.

Now it feels like it doesn't matter for the future, but it's unfortunate that it turns out that way.

In addition to Samuelsson, Jesper Nelin, Martin Ponsiluoma, Emil Nykvist and Peppe Femling will run Saturday's sprint.

On the women's side, Anna Magnusson, Hanna Öberg, Linn Persson and Elvira Öberg will defend the blue and yellow colors in Friday's sprint.
