The Olympics have not been arranged in Sweden since 1912. Now Sweden is starting a preliminary study to see if the conditions exist to arrange the Winter Olympics and Paralympics in 2030, something that Frölunda and Tre Kronor's goalkeeper Lasse Johanssson sees positively.

He was the national team's first goalkeeper during the Olympics in Beijing.

- It's clear, it would have been awesome if it could be done.

The Olympics are an incredibly cool thing.

One thinks of everyone who gets the chance in that case to drive it at home.

It would have been awesome, he tells SVT Sport.

"Know what a big process it is"

But Lasse Johansson also understands that it takes a lot to organize a championship.

- Then I know what a big process it is to arrange it, or I don't even understand how big it is.

But it's clear it would have been awesome if it could be resolved with something like that, he says.

"Fun for Sweden"

Sweden applied to host the Winter Olympics in 2026 but lost the vote and the championship will be hosted in Italy instead.

Now there is a new opportunity for a championship in Sweden.

Skellefteå's Jonathan Pudas would like to see an Olympics on Swedish soil.

- It would be fun for Sweden to have that opportunity.

Fun for all Swedish athletes to get such a chance.

It would have been fun, he says.

Sweden's preliminary study is expected to be completed by the summer.
