It is extremely close in the fight for the last playoff spots in the SHL.

Before tonight's match between Luleå and HV71, Luleå was in eleventh place, on the same goal difference but with fewer goals scored than Rögle in the last playoff spot.

And it looked like penalties would decide whether Luleå would win and thus climb past Rögle and Linköping.

Two goals by Honka

But after Jack Connolly won a draw and played to the Finnish defender Julius Honka, Luleå got the extra point without penalties.

Honka's shot went past Joni Ortio in the Rögle goal, and Honka could both celebrate his second goal of the evening and two points for Luleå.

- Jack did a good job.

He read the puck and knew I was going to be there.

It was just shooting.

I'm glad it went in, it was a very important point for us, says Honka to C More.

Luleå's victory was fair.

In a match that was not the best of the season from either team, the home team was the better team seen over 60 minutes.
