Should the war in Ukraine end, Nikita Anishchenkov (high jump), Artem Chermoshanskiy (long jump), Maksim Pianzin (walking), Nikita Kurbanov (high jump), Danil Chechela (long jump) and Marina Kovaleva (long-distance running) will be allowed to compete internationally after anti-doping authorities also given the go-ahead after they stayed in a "clean environment".

Currently, no Russian athletes can qualify for the Olympics in Paris 2024 - despite the IOC trying to open the door ajar.

"Would show that terrorism is accepted"

Ukraine strongly opposes Russian participation in major international championships.

- It would show that terrorism is somehow accepted, says Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskiy.

The Russian Athletics Federation has been internationally suspended since 2015 after Wada determined that systematic doping had occurred in the country.

However, active players have been able to participate in championships under a neutral flag.

Previously, 73 active athletes have been placed on WA's list of Russian track and field athletes who may be allowed to participate under a neutral flag - if the war in Ukraine ends.

The next international athletics championships are the indoor EC in Istanbul March 2-5.
