"I have always felt that as long as I stand on the snow field, I can feel a gentle and stable sense of acceptance. In my memory, on February 4, 2022, when I walked into the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the wind was a bit It was cold, but there was a fire surging in my heart, as if I had found the home of my soul, and I could see the direction of the future clearly."

Zhang Jing, a test skater of the Chinese team in the steel frame snowmobile event of the Beijing Winter Olympics, a postgraduate student majoring in sports training at Tianjin Institute of Physical Education, and also a member of the current national steel frame snowmobile training team.

On February 4, 2023, the first anniversary of the Beijing Winter Olympics, Zhang Jing appeared on the "Snow Dragon" track. In the morning light, the daily training routine of the day began.

Every corner of the "Snow Dragon" track, the subtle touch on the ice, and the whistling wind every time the steel frame snowmobile rubs against the ice rapidly, have all been engraved into Zhang Jing's blood. among.

As long as the big boys born in the 90s stand on the track, their eyes immediately become focused and firm.

The word "athlete" has a sense of faith for him, it is the immersion of the unity of nature and man, and it also reveals the core essence of eternal struggle.

After the Beijing Winter Olympics, Yan Wengang, the bronze medalist of steel frame snowmobile, took a group photo with the test skaters and coaching team.

The winter Olympic test skater strengthened my original intention of ice and snow

The Beijing Winter Olympics is a special term that Zhang Jing can't forget in his life, but also haunts his dreams.

At the end of January 2022, when he was confirmed to be included in the national team's list of test skaters, Zhang Jing was excited, and more of it was a clear understanding of himself.

Compared with the veteran players with rich experience in the competition, he is well aware of his gap, so for the role of "test skater", who is destined not to stand on the podium, he is happy.

"Being able to serve and guarantee teammates well is the meaning of the team." Zhang Jing said.

In 2018, Zhang Jing was selected into the national steel frame snowmobile training team. During the four years of training, he and his teammate Yan Wengang from Tianjin had a very good understanding.

Yan Wengang joined the team a few years earlier than Zhang Jing, and under the influence of his seniors, the two became both teachers and friends and achieved mutual success.

In the past four years, Zhang Jing has aimed at the old players, in order to create the best results in China's steel frame snowmobile event with his teammates in his own country and in the Winter Olympics as the host.

He dreams of medals, but not prestige.

"Do your best and go forward bravely" Zhang Jing's idea has always been simple.

Many people think that the steel frame snowmobile project is "novel" and beautiful.

Its top speed can reach 130 kilometers per hour, and the athlete's head is almost close to the ground. It is also a typical "meat covered iron", which is quite exciting.

In the Olympic arena, as a test skater, Zhang Jing’s task every time is to test the direction of the ice trough on the track, the safety of the ice surface, and the impact of lighting intensity on athletes before the official competition.

"This project is fast, and a small factor on the track may affect the final result of the competition. The Chinese team has 5 test skaters, and our job is to demonstrate the whole process from the perspective of athletes before the competition. Once, I I found that there is a problem with the direction of the ice trough at a corner of the track, which may be due to insufficient repairs after the previous race. Skeleton athletes have to bear the pressure of 4 to 5 Gs every time they turn, because we are lying on the ground. The sled does not move, so the subtle changes in the ice groove will be more obvious to the body, which is difficult to detect with the naked eye."

Timely detection of various problems on the track can not only eliminate potential safety hazards, but also provide timely feedback to the participating teammates on the situation of the ice chute, which is also helpful for the formulation of team tactics and the choice of teammates' technical actions.

The test skater is the "inspector" on the track and the "behind-the-scenes hero" in the competition.

In the Xueyoulong competition, when Yan Wengang won the first steel frame snowmobile medal for China and stood on the third place podium, Zhang Jing in the audience also burst into tears.

Not because he failed to walk in front of the camera, but because he is also a part of the realization of this dream.

Participating in the Olympic Games for the first time, for Zhang Jing, there is only "shock".

He said that he saw the world and experienced the excitement of the Olympic Games.

At that moment, it seems that life is not calculated by lifespan, but by how many lives you have lived.

And his life is destined to be associated with Bingxue, Bingxue has a deep heart and unswerving determination.

"After Yan Wengang won the bronze medal, when he walked through the reporter channel, he greeted our five test skaters and took a group photo together, saying that this is an honor for the team. I laughed heartlessly at the time, and I didn't have any thoughts other than being happy. , I think it’s good to be engaged in this sport, and I want to keep going like this.”

Injured but not hesitant, I want to devote my whole life to the ice and snow business

In 2016, Zhang Jing was admitted to Tianjin Institute of Physical Education in the college entrance examination, where he majored in physical education.

At that time, he was still a track and field student, focusing on the 100-meter sprint.

It is also the physical fitness and super explosive power that he has trained all the year round that allowed him to be selected as a steel frame snowmobile athlete in the national team's cross-border and cross-event trials in July 2018.

At that time, the steel frame snowmobile project was not popular in China.

Zhang Jing also only watched the competition of Chinese player Geng Wenqiang at the Pingchang Winter Olympics, and his initial perception of the event was "too exciting"!

At an age that liked challenges, Zhang Jing seemed to suddenly know what his dream was when he met a snowmobile.

That is both an ideal and a true feeling, "I know what I really need."

Skeleton is a sport that focuses on strength and has high requirements for explosive power.

The 100-meter sprint and long jump are the basis of daily training.

In winter, skiing training is concentrated, and in summer, they will go to foreign countries for intensive training.

For several years, Zhang Jing's life can be summed up as either training or on the way to training.

"The daily winter training is about 4 to 5 hours in the morning and afternoon; the summer training includes morning exercises, and it can reach 5 to 6 hours in the morning and afternoon. I was a bit overwhelmed at the beginning, but there are old players in the team and I am the backbone. Strength and physical fitness are at their best, and I quickly adapted to the training intensity."

Zhang Jing also encountered a "thrilling moment" in the transition from track and field to steel frame snowmobile.

Going to different places to compete or train, steel frame snowmobile athletes have to face the problem of adapting to the new track.

Once, Zhang Jing hit his head against the wall at a sharp bend on the Lake Placid Raceway in the United States because of his excessive speed.

Today, when Zhang Jing talked about the accident in a relaxed tone, he just laughed it off without emphasizing it.

But he also admitted that after that time, when he stood on the track for a period of time, he felt a sense of fear in his heart.

Fortunately, after a comprehensive inspection, Zhang Jing was fine, but it also made this big boy more deeply aware of the danger and challenge of steel frame snowmobile sports.

"Now I have adjusted my mentality, and I am not afraid. My parents also fully understand and respect my choice, but at that time, grandparents and other older generations advised me not to work so hard. All I have to do is to More scientific training tells the elderly that this is my dream, I am a professional athlete, and I will protect myself so that they can see the true strength and charm of athletes."

Zhang Jing's determination and courage could be heard in Zhang Jing's words on the phone, and there were one or two simple and honest laughter from time to time.

Like many athletes, Zhang Jing's life may not be rich, but it is very exciting.

He said that he is an ordinary and ordinary member of the national training team. There are not many changes in the day-to-day training, but he is very fulfilling.

Because people are great because of their dreams, in his view, all successful people are big dreamers.

"On the snow field in winter and in the training room in summer, I dream about the future. In the face of difficulties, some people let their dreams die quietly, while others take good care of them and get through the difficulties safely. What welcomes is light and hope .”

Zhang Jing, I believe that light and hope will come to those who truly believe that their dreams will come true.

Every day, he carefully maintains his sleds, pry blades, and carefully checks the safety of all protective gear.

As long as it appears on the track, it will definitely be "safety".

He said that this is his own responsibility and the attitude he should have towards this sport.

In his spare time, Zhang Jing likes to practice calligraphy, get away from the sense of speed on the field, and settle himself in the world of calligraphy.

I will also write down the things I want to do and the goals I plan to accomplish in the notebook.

February 5th is the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, and Zhang Jing still has to spend the Lantern Festival at the training ground.

He said that on days when the weather is good, he likes to look at the clouds in the sky after training, white clouds and white snow. He is like a "snow shepherd" standing between the sky and the earth, and he can hear the whispers of the clouds and the breath of the snow...

The whisper seems to say, let's go, and hit the next Olympic Games; the breath seems to say, stick to it, and stand on the Olympic field as an athlete.

Like the seniors and brothers in the team, you can also raise the five-star red flag on the international arena.
