Quick facts about the Swedish rally:

- The rally has been run as a

winter rally

since 1965, with the exception of 1974 (cancelled due to the petrol crisis), 1990 (cancelled due to the weather), 2009 when it was not included in the WC series and 2021 when the corona pandemic stopped the rally.

- The rally has been run in

Umeå

since 2022, which took over the competition from

Värmland

.

- The most recent Swedish winner in the WRC class is

Kenneth Eriksson

, who won in 1997.

- The most Swedish winner in the Swedish Rally is

Stig Blomqvist

with seven victories (1971, 1972, 1973, 1977, 1979, 1982, 1984).

Three questions for the expert before the Swedish rally:

Kalle Rovanperä won the Swedish Rally 2022. Will he defend the victory?

- It is almost impossible to answer who wins.

It is much more even between the teams and the drivers this year, and the Swedish Rally could be a first indication of who is the best.

Rovanperä has no favoritism in my eyes.

There are five or six drivers who have a realistic chance, and it feels very open, says SVT's expert Jonas Kruse.

No Swedish driver drives the WRC this year, what does this mean for the Swedish rally sport?

- For the sake of Swedish motorsport, it's really sad that we don't have anyone with us, when Oliver finally got there.

Motorsport and the interest need a driver in the highest class.

But as it developed for Oliver, it was right to take a step back.

I didn't think so then, but I do now.

Oliver Solberg drives WRC2 in the Swedish rally, will he win?

- He has a great chance of winning.

He is in the right team and the right car.

He got off to a good start in Monte Carlo, and looked solid.

But above all, the joy is back and the self-confidence is there again.

Since then, WRC2 has raised the level and the competition is tougher.

It will take a lot to win, but he has a great chance.
