It was a nasty end to today's stage of the French competition Étoile de Bessèges.
A large group of cyclists crashed together on a narrow bridge and several have reportedly been taken to hospital.
The pictures also show how Frenchman Valentin Ferron was left hanging over a bridge railing in connection with the crash.
He was later able to pull himself up from the railing.'
L'Équipe states that the stage was broken and that no winner is chosen.
