Björn Sandström took his first SM gold after a dramatic final battle in yesterday's 15 km free race.
Today, the Swedish Skiing Association announced that he can now go to Toblach in Italy and put on the Swedish national team uniform.
- After analyzing the situation before the competitions coming this weekend, we believe that we need to have another men's skater in place to ensure that we have enough starters during each day.
That's why it feels good to be able to bring the SC winner Björn Sandström to Toblach, says national team manager Anders Byström in a statement.
- He will primarily ride 10 km F on Saturday but also be available for the relay on Sunday.
