It was during Monday that HV71 announced that head coach Tommy Samuelsson and assistant coach Fredrik Stillman had been fired.

Instead, Johan Lindbom, who was club director until now, has been given the chance to lead the SHL team, which is in 13th place.

But Lindbom's HV71 did not get off to a fun start in the home match against Timrå.

Newly acquired Olli Palola was able to send in 1-0 in his first change for his new club.

- A better start is difficult to get.

He is doing incredibly well, says teammate Anton Lander to C More.

"Looks lost"

2–0 came later in the same period through Joonas Lyytinen.

- I think we look a little lost.

It's crampy out there.

It clearly has to get better, noted HV71's Simon Önerud.

And of course it would get better.

The home team came out with more energy in the second period, and the reduction from André Petersson therefore came logically.

Samme Petersson was also close to equalizing in the match's third period, but then his shot hit the crossbar.

Broken record

Shortly afterwards, the home team hit the bar again, after a hard finish by Joseph Laleggia.

However, HV did not manage to get an equaliser, and the match ended 3–1 to Timrå after a goal in the open box by Robin Hanzl.

Worth noting otherwise is that Jeremy Boyce touched Per Hallin's record for the most number of games in the Timrå jersey.

Boyce has now played 680 games for the SHL club.
