100% new poster for the CHAN-2023 final.

After their narrow 1-0 victory against Madagascar on Tuesday (January 31st), Senegal will face hosts Algeria on Saturday to put their name on the competition list.

The public was however behind the Barea.

During his matches in Constantine, they had conquered hearts with their impressive game.

A domination in the stands which does not however translate on the ground in the first minutes.

It is even Senegal that picks the island team cold.

Mamadou Sané sends a straight cross and Pape Diallo's header gives the Teranga Lions the lead (5th, 1-0).

Feats of "Nina"

At the end of the first half, it took all the talent of Razakanirina Rakotohasimbola aka "Nina" to keep Barea's hopes alive.

He intervenes at close range on the strike of the evening striker (35th).

At the break, Madagascar has possession (55%) but is far from having scared the Lions.

Back from the locker room, Senegal pushes to make the break.

On a corner, "Nina" is saved by her crossbar before courageously intervening on the rest of the action (49th).

On the hour mark, it was Jaraaf de Dakar member Moussa Ndiaye, who attempted a genius lobe from the central circle but "Niga" boxed in disaster (59th).

In the last moments of the match, the Barea distinguished themselves more, even demanding a penalty after an incursion into the box, but it was Pape Diallo who offered himself the best opportunity: an escape behind the defense, the Generation Foot striker misses the opportunity to put Senegal permanently in the shelter.

Luckily without consequence.

Four years after the CAN-2019 final, Algeria and Senegal find themselves at the top of African football, the opportunity to slip the CHAN trophy into their hands for the first time in their history.
