Zverev's ex-girlfriend Oga Sharypova claims that she was abused by Zverev in a hotel in Shanghai in 2019, something that also allegedly happened in New York and Geneva.

In October 2021, the ATP appointed its own investigation into the former world number two Zverev, who appreciated the process.

The ATP turned to an independent third party, The Lake Forest Group (LFG), who in-depth interviewed both Zverev and Sharypova and 24 other people close to them, such as family members and people on the ATP tour.

The decision may be reconsidered

The investigation has taken 16 months to complete.

“The extensive investigation found insufficient evidence to support published allegations of abuse.

As a result, no disciplinary action will be taken by the ATP," the organization wrote in a statement, but added that the decision may be reconsidered if new facts come to light or if any legal process reaches a different conclusion.

Zverev has denied the allegations during the protracted trial.

14th-ranked Zverev has just returned to the tour after the serious foot injury he suffered in the semi-finals of the French Open against Rafael Nadal in early June last year.
