Second against first in the SDHL.

Tonight, Brynäs closed in on league leaders Luleå, after a 2-0 victory.

Brynäs started the match at a furious pace.

Already on the drop, Anna Meixner twisted the puck for herself and got a free position, but Sara Grahn made the save.

However, Meixner would have reason to celebrate - barely 15 seconds later.

Lara Stalder faked a shot before passing to Mexiner who pushed in 1-0 in the match.

- We had a good start.

She faked the shot fantastically and I just had to shoot the puck into the goal, says Mexiner to C More.

The goal was the Austrian's 24th of the season.

Was forced off after collision

In the second period, Luleå suffered a tough injury.

Johanna Fällman collided with teammate Jenni Hiirikoski and the former fell to the ice and grabbed her knee.

Fällman was then helped by the rink and she was forced to break the match.

Brynäs extended the lead in the third period.

Just as with the first goal, Meixner and Stalder were involved.

This time, however, it was Meixner who played through to Stalder, who sent in 2–0.

The duo has now scored 47 and 46 points respectively this season.

The goal was the last of the match and with it Brynäs Luleå is approaching the top of the table.

After tonight's results, five points separate the teams.

- It is absolutely fantastic.

We have a great team that does an incredible job in front of me, says Felicia Frank, who kept her third clean sheet of the season.
