• The French team, Olympic champion, is aiming for the double on Sunday.

  • Denmark's Mikkel Hansen, double defending champion, wants revenge after their defeat in the final of the Tokyo Olympics.

  • This final will be played at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, which can accommodate 30,000 spectators, as in the semi-final.

By beating Sweden in the semi-finals of the world championship on Friday evening (31-26), the French team produced a dazzling performance.

This opened the doors to the final, which they will play against another world handball cador, Denmark.

The key, a seventh world title for a selection that already deserves it.

What time and on which channel to see the France - Denmark final?

The final of the world championship between the Blues and Denmark will be broadcast on TF1, in clear, and on beIN Sports 1, only for subscribers, this Sunday January 29 at 9 p.m.

The Blues know what to expect

Beaten at the gates of the final by Sweden at the 2021 World Cup (26-32) then Euro 2022 (33-34), Guillaume Gille's players set the record straight on Friday evening.

From now on, they will have to fight hard against other Scandinavians, to reach Olympus.

Double defending champion, Denmark fears France, no doubt.

Since 2011, Mikkel Hansen has faced the tricolor selection, with two victories on either side.

Carried by Vincent Gérard, excellent in the cages (13 saves) after passing the baton to Rémi Desbonnets in the quarters, France has many reasons to believe in it.

The newfound efficiency of Dika Mem (5/9 in shooting in the semi-finals) and the connection between the pivots and the leaders are weapons that could hurt the Danes.

In great shape, as evidenced by his roucoulettes and his seven-meter throws (4/4 in the semi-final), Kentin Mahé will also be able to guide France.

It remains to be seen on Elohim Prandi, hit in the shoulder, and Nikola Karabatic, suffering in the foot and absent from the semi-final, will be handed over.

Anyway, the group of the France team has resources to replace them.

World champions in 1995, 2001, 2009, 2011, 2015 and 2017 (their last final in the competition), the Blues could well see themselves adding the 2023 vintage to their list.

Vengeful Vikings

Spain's fallers in the semi-finals, the Danes will try to achieve an unprecedented hat-trick at the world championship, which they won in 2019 and 2021.

Considered the two best teams of the decade, France and Denmark should fight a battle that promises to be epic.

And for good reason: the French beat the Scandinavians (25-23) in the final of the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, then they lost the match for third place against these same Danes at Euro 2022, after extra time.

MVP of the semi-final against the Spaniards, Niklas Landin will fight a distance duel with Vincent Gerard.

Difficult to predict the outcome given the level displayed by the two men.

This handball classic will also be an opposition between Mikkel Hansen (35), a real star in his country, and Nikola Karabatic (38), who could, if he plays, play his last world championship match...
