The Organizing Committee of the "Hero Dubai Desert Classic" tournament announced a list of environmental measures and events in support of environmental protection and the promotion of sustainability, during the period of the tournament, which is held at the Emirates Golf Club, with the aim of presenting a distinctive and environmentally friendly version.

Environmental measures aim to reduce waste, emissions, water consumption and energy conservation, coinciding with the declaration of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, in 2023 as the "Year of Sustainability".

Among the initiatives, Liquid of Life and Al Lith will introduce high-quality filtered water distribution systems, which will enable players, their escorts, officials and fans to refill reusable bottles or cups for free, eliminating the use of 40,000 water bottles during the event.

These devices support the "Dubai Initiative" initiative, which aims to reduce the use of plastic water bottles.

In turn, Dulsco cooperated with the organizers of the event to supervise the process of collecting, transporting and disposing of all types of waste throughout the event period. As part of the partnership with Aggreko, the roof of the media center will be covered with 100-meter-long solar panels around the venue.

The organizers also encourage fans to take advantage of the Dubai Metro services to move to and from the tournament venue, as the Al Khail Metro station is minutes away from the main entrance to the Emirates Golf Club.

The organizers provide limited parking, at 50 dirhams per car, and the fees paid will be used to support the planting of mangrove seedlings across the country, and will offset 2,000 miles of car emissions, and will also support the safe water program in Mozambique.

This is in addition to many awareness workshops for adults and children on the importance of preserving the environment, as well as supporting the goal of planting 2,000 seeds as part of the “Ghaf Tree Cultivation Program”, in addition to an interactive platform to enhance the bond between individuals and the environment, by adopting environmentally friendly methods. It is noteworthy that the World Championship attracts elite golf stars in the world, headed by Rory McIlroy, the world number one and twice champion, and the list also includes Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood, Terrell Hatton, and Ryan Fox.

 Among the championship initiatives:

Water distribution systems contribute to reducing the use of plastic bottles.

Invite fans to take advantage of Dubai Metro services.

Covering the roof of the media center with 100-meter solar panels.

Use of limited parking fees in humanitarian initiatives and to support the environment.

Educating the public about the importance of preserving the environment, and supporting the Ghaf Tree Cultivation Programme.
