The legendary Mike Tyson is in trouble again.

The woman, who did not wish to disclose her name for security reasons, accuses the athlete of rape, which was allegedly committed more than 30 years ago - in the early 1990s.

As compensation, she demands from the boxer an amount of $ 5 million.

The meeting of the girl, who by that time was 18 years old, with Iron Mike took place at the Septembers club in Albany.

She spent time with her friend.

At the same time, for some reason, the boxer hung out in an institution with his driver.

“Tyson told us about a certain party and invited us to join him.

Girlfriend was about to drive her car to the house.

He promised to pick her up in a limousine.

I got into his car to follow my friend to her house.

Tyson immediately began to touch me and tried to kiss me.

I told him “no” several times and asked him to stop, but he continued to pester me.

And then he pulled off my clothes and brutally raped me,” the woman said in a statement published in the media.

As noted in the document, the plaintiff suffered "physical, psychological and emotional trauma" and continues to suffer so far, although many years have passed.

“After I was brutally raped by Tyson, I lost respect for myself, felt guilt, shame, shame, bitterness and anger, I developed depression, anxiety, violent tendencies, drug and alcohol addiction, and mental confusion.” , the statement said.

In addition to bad habits, the woman also had problems with the opposite sex, since any touch is now unpleasant for her.

“I fail to maintain and / or build healthy relationships with men, and indeed with people in general.

I am suffering emotionally in the most severe way, experiencing, among other things, nightmares, panic attacks and involuntary experiences that pop up in my memory, ”the document says.

The plaintiff's lawyer was Darren Salebuck.

He stated that in his office they not only believed the client, but also investigated the case, therefore they consider her words to be true.

However, he did not comment on anything else to reporters.

It should be noted that the boxer has already been prosecuted for rape.

In 1992, he was found guilty of abusing beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington.

The boxer was given six years in prison, but thanks to good behavior and the help of lawyers, he managed to return to freedom after three years.  

That story was ambiguous.

Mike did not admit his guilt: in his opinion, everything happened "by mutual consent."

And the circumstances of the incident also looked ambiguous: after dinner, the girl went to the athlete’s room and continued to communicate, even when there were hints of intimacy.

At the same time, she was not found to have serious injuries, although Washington was opposed by one of the strongest boxers in the world. 

Now the situation is almost the same.

Of course, everything can be attributed to the rampant lifestyle of Tyson at that time.

And it cannot be ruled out that he simply did not accept refusals from women.

On the other hand, why then the next “victim” turned to the police only now, given all the psychological problems that she describes.

It would seem that such a claim should not be considered due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for the incident.

If a crime occurred, then it had to be reported immediately: upon the fact of the incident.

Now it will be very difficult to prove something to both one and the other side.

However, a new law has come into effect in New York State.

According to the document, until November 23, 2023, rape victims who were over 18 years old at the time of the abuse have the right to write a statement, regardless of when exactly it happened.

A similar provisional law was already passed in 2019.

But then it concerned only minors who found themselves in a difficult situation, and because of the pandemic, the document was valid for two years.

During this period, more than 10,000 lawsuits were filed with the court, mostly against state institutions where children studied.
