The Confederation of African Football (CAF) suspended one of its media office officials for 5 years, depriving him of any activity related to the game, and preventing him from continuing his work in the current African Cup of Nations in Algeria, for "improper behavior."

CAF had chosen Felix Souhund Bibreb from Benin to work in its media system to cover the tournament.

Bibreb was suspended after a CAF Disciplinary Committee hearing in Algiers this week.

The commission heard a victim say Beprib "attacked" her last week and "attempted to kiss her" after she went to his hotel room to get her tournament credentials.

It was also mentioned in the Disciplinary Committee's decision - which was announced to reporters - that another person provided details about receiving an "inappropriate offer" from Biprep when he was covering the African Nations Cup finals that were held in Cameroon last year.

Suhund Biprep denied the accusations and said it was a plot to discredit him.

It was not immediately clear if he would face any criminal charges in addition to the CAF penalties.
