Abu Dhabi Weightlifting Club contracts with a technical expert

The Abu Dhabi Weightlifting Club has signed a contract with coach Avinash Bandu from Mauritius, as the technical director of the club, in preparation for a strong start for the club, which arrangements are being made to officially open soon. The signing took place in the presence of Chairman Abdullah Al Zaabi, Board Member Abdullah Al Shamsi and Director of Support Services Khalifa Rashid Al Zaabi.


Bando will assume the technical management of the club during the coming period, in addition to supervising the various branches that the club plans to open in Al Dhafra and Al Ain, as well as a branch for women in Abu Dhabi.


The Mauritian coach has great training and academic experience, and has achieved many important achievements, most notably his leadership of the Indonesian national team to achieve two medals in the 2016 Rio Olympics.


Abdullah Al-Zaabi stressed that contracting with Bando is a good step, especially since his selection came after scrutiny and scrutiny of a number of files for different coaches, and he was preferred for his distinguished CV in the technical and academic aspects and in developing programs and plans that lead to solid construction and achieving the desired boom in the game.


He added: "We wish Bando success with the club, which is planning a strong start, and to have a clear imprint, and from our side we will provide him with all the means that help implement the club's technical strategy, which is based on caring for the base and spreading the game, and achieving successes in foreign tournaments to reach a strong presence in Olympiad".


Al Zaabi thanked the wise leadership and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for supporting sports and individual games, especially the Olympic Games, pointing out that the Weightlifting Club has drawn ambitious plans to make this sport among the top sports in the country in the near future.


For his part, Avinash Bando expressed his happiness at being in Abu Dhabi, contracting with the club, stressing that the ambitious sports project owned by the Abu Dhabi Club motivated him and made him end his ties in India and accept the task of technical director, and promised that he and the technical staff would make a great effort to implement plans and programs, and lead The club is technically to be in the ranks of the big clubs on the continent and internationally.
