Denmark did what was needed in the quarter-finals against a sluggish Hungary.

Mate Lekai did score three goals at the start of the game when the Hungarians were still in touch, but then Denmark shifted into a higher gear.

After 19 minutes, Simon Gidsel made it 14-9 on Hungary, who also added a second, and the match felt almost decided.

Magnus Grahn: "Played off the match"

Despite Hungary taking a time out, the Danes pulled away further.

With four minutes left in the first half, Emil Jakobsen countered 19-12 for Denmark, who led 21-12 at the break.

- Hungary looked extremely happy and there was no desperation in their game.

It just felt like they played off this match, says SVT Sports expert Magnus Grahn.

- I doubt if Hungary will win a single match in the WC when there are now placement matches.

Denmark already emptied the bench at the end of the first half and continued to do so in the second.

However, it was not noticed on the scoreboard and the victory was finally recorded at 40-24.

Great drama between Norway and Spain

It was more even in the quarter-finals between Norway and Spain.

Norway led 6-2 in the opening match, but it was the only time either team led by more than two balls.

The teams took turns to have the lead in the second half which became dramatic.

With six minutes left, the score was 24-24.
