- I think I got all the experience I need in connection with Wimbledon and it helped me this time in Australia, I knew what to expect, says Rybakina to the WTA tour.

The quarter-final at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne had to be paused for around 20 minutes in the first set due to rain.

Then the Wimbledon champion Rybakina led 3–1.

Received no ranking points for the Wimbledon win

- The conditions were different after the roof was closed.

But it can happen here, you never know, in the morning it's a weather and later it can change, says Rybakina, who won Wimbledon last summer but didn't get any ranking points because the organizer stopped Russian and Belarusian participants.

That means the 23-year-old, who was born in Moscow and played for Russia until 2018, is no better ranked than 25th.

Rybakina, who knocked out top seed Iga Swiatek in the fourth round, will face the winner of the quarter-final between American Jessica Pegula and Victoria Azarenka.
