The France team will face Germany on Wednesday in Gdansk in the quarter-finals of the World Handball Championship.
The Germans lost Monday to Norway (28-26) in Katowice in the Group III clash of the main round and thus finished second in their group.
The Blues finished first in Group I after their victory on Sunday in Krakow against Spain (28-26).
The Norwegians will challenge the Spaniards, while the other quarter-finals will oppose Sweden to Egypt and Denmark to Hungary.
