Rule changes have been discussed extensively recently and it has mainly been about the so-called "coaches challenge" and icing in box play.

The closest thing to being implemented in the SHL is probably the "coaches challenge", that is to say that the coach can challenge decisions on the ice.

The SHL's goal with this is to reduce the number of video assessments by allowing the coach to challenge the goalkeeper in the event of interference.

Today, instead, it is the judges themselves who check their assessments.

An incorrect challenge results in an ejection for the challenging coach's team.

It is welcomed by Jonas Andersson.

- I think it's good.

Just right.

Then you actually reduce the number of reviews and then you also take a risk.

I like that, there is a consequence if it goes wrong.

It is positive.

It increases the pace of the game and it also increases one's own responsibility, he says and continues:

- There will also be a moment of tension, which is positive.

There is a profit in having the same rules as the NHL.

The other thing that has been discussed is whether in the future there should be icing in box play as well.

It may be tested in junior series.

Among the players that SVT Sport has asked, opinions differed.

- It might be worth testing, but it's hard to say how it would affect the game.

That would be a fun thing to try.

We'll see how it goes further down the line and if it's right it will come up to the SHL, says Linköping's Vilmos Gallo.

- I think it is good as it is now.

Powerplay and boxplay are such important moments anyway.

So I think it's unnecessary to bother with it more, says Leksand's Kalle Östman.
