Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia is close to including the top scorer in the Chinese League

Al-Ahly, the competitor in the Saudi second-division football league, approached the inclusion of Brazilian striker Marcao, top scorer in the Chinese Premier League last season, after the club announced his arrival in Jeddah via social media.

Marcao scored 27 goals in 26 games to lead Wuhan to its first title in the Chinese Super League, and the 28-year-old's contract expired at the end of the competition season last month.

Al-Ahly, the runners-up of the AFC Champions League twice, ranks fourth in the second division after its sudden relegation last year, with a difference of three points from the summit, and a match remains for coach Pitso Mosimane’s team.
