The men's national team in bandy has started its training ahead of the World Cup in March and will play this weekend in a four-nation tournament.

The tournament includes Norway, Finland and another Swedish team called Team 25, which consists of players younger than 25 years old.

The international match against neighbors Finland was unfortunately not a highlight for Sweden.

An early goal set the tone

Örebro's scoring king Nico Nevalainen, who leads the scoring league in the Allsvenskan, scored the early goal for Finland to 1-0.

Sweden came back in the first half and made it 1-1 through Christoffer Edlund, who came free and scored the equaliser.

- Finland is good at defending itself, if we had only scored three corner goals we might have won, says Sweden's Fredrik Lönn after the match.

Finland resisted

Despite a late reduction by Sweden in the second half, Finland also scored one and two goals, and unexpectedly won the neighboring meeting with 3-2.

- It tastes good, it's a nice victory.

We score one more goal, it's a lot of trouble for us today, but we win, says Finland's Emil Fedorov.

The WC will be played in Eriksson Arena in Åby, north of Växjö, on March 28–April 2, 2023.
