This weekend starts the para WC in Östersund.

Visually impaired Zebastian Modin, 28, will compete in both biathlon and cross-country skiing.

And it is the successes in the cross-country tracks that have made him Sweden's foremost winter Paralympian - four silver and four bronze in the Paralympics.

In addition, he has won two World Cup golds, in sprints both in the German Fitserau in 2017 and in the Canadian Prince George in 2019. Now the championships are decided at home in Östersund.

Something that Modin enjoys.

- When I got into this almost fifteen years ago, I thought that I would like to have a World Cup competition in Östersund.

And now it will be a WC where I train every day.

It's almost a little unrealistic, it feels great fun.

And of course I then want to have my best races, says Zebastian Modin.

"Calm and smart person"

Modin comes to the home WC with a new guide, double Olympic gold medalist Daniel Richardsson has succeeded Olympic silver medalist Emil Jönsson Haag.

And they have, unlike previous collaborations, trained 100 percent together since last summer.

- He is interested in skiing, he is calm and smart as a person and thinks a lot.

And I think that is important for how we should be able to develop things.

Even though it's the same sport as skiing, it's a different touch, says Modin.
