Last fall, team Edin won its first grand slam title since 2017, but the last matches had to be played without skipper Niklas Edin.

He injured his knee before the semi-finals and was forced to withdraw from the competition.

Now he is back in action – four months earlier than planned.

- The prognosis was six to nine months and now it has only been a little over two months before I could play the first competition.

Partly, it sits on the right leg, so I don't have to get much further than ninety degrees and then be able to use a protection that locks at ninety degrees, says Niklas Edin.

Made a comeback in Canada

Niklas Edin made a comeback at a competition in Canada where team Edin made it to the final.

He has a few months of rehab left for the knee to be fully restored before the World Cup in April, but the competition in Canada testified that the game is there.

- We were still a bit worried that it would be a bit tough when we started the tournament but got off to a good start, actually won straight to the playoffs, so with that we knew that now we are already back in good shape, says Niklas Edin.

"A lot at stake"

No one had won more than two WC golds before team Edin did it.

Now Niklas Edin wants to reach what he calls an "iconic milestone" by winning his fifth consecutive WC gold.

A win like that would mean a lot.

- For us, it feels almost as big as when we go in for an Olympics.

There is a lot at stake to end our careers sometime later and be able to look back on what we have done, says Edin.

The WC in curling is played between April 2-12 in Las Vegas, USA.
