Elvira Öberg felt crass and was forced to stand over the relay and the mass start in Ruhpolding last weekend.

And it was uncertain for a long time whether she would start in Thursday's sprint in Antholz, but this morning the message came from the national team coach Johannes Lukas that Elvira Öberg was better.

It started somewhat tough for the 23-year-old in the track, as she was just over eleven seconds behind Julia Simon after 1.5 kilometers.

But in the first prone shooting, she shot full and thus climbed high on the results list.

Her five hits means she now has 55 straight hits in prone shooting, which is the longest active streak right now.

Even in the standing and last shooting it was full and she also went significantly faster on the final lap.

- It is a remarkable competition by Elvira, said commentator Ola Bränholm in SVT's broadcast.

But, it was not enough for victory.

Dorothea Wierer also shot full and was slightly faster in the track.

Wierer thus won the sprint on home soil - just three seconds ahead of French Chloe Chevalier.

- I am very positively surprised, says Elvira Öberg to SVT Sport after third place.

- It means a lot that I have this stability in the lying shot.

Last year I missed every fifth shot on average, now I've put 55 in a row, that's something I'm incredibly proud of.

Now, however, it is unclear whether Öberg will line up at the start of the hunt, which is on Saturday.

- There will be full focus on recovery now, she says.
