Egypt's national team defeated Belgium, 33-28, today, Thursday, in Group D of the main round of the World Handball Championship, which is currently being held in Poland and Sweden.

The African champion dominated the match and ended the first half in his favor with a score of 22-15, raising Egypt to 6 points and leading the group, pending the result of the match between Denmark and Croatia, which will be played later.

Noting that she had topped her group in the first round by defeating her three competitors, Croatia, Morocco and the United States.

Earlier, the Bahrain national team continued its good results and defeated the US team 32-27 in Group D of the main round, to achieve its first victory in history in this role.

The first half ended with Bahrain leading 17-13, before it continued to dominate in the second half and won for the first time in the main round of the World Handball Championship.

Bahrain raised its score to 4 points, after qualifying for the main round with two points from the first round, to temporarily occupy third place.

In the third group of the main round, Qatar lost 32-30 against the Netherlands, despite its lead in the first half with a score of 19-15.

President's Cup

Algeria also lost 40-25 from North Macedonia in the second group of the President's Cup, which determines the owners of the 25th to 32nd places. Algeria was delayed 19-11 after the first half, and could not return to the result, as it had lost all its matches in the tournament so far.

In the same group, Tunisia beat Morocco 30-25, to achieve its first victory in the current world championship, after the first half ended in a 13-13 draw.

Thus, North Macedonia tops the group with two points, with a goal difference from Tunisia, then Morocco comes third and Algeria ranks fourth without any point.
