Novak Djokovic has already done better than Rafael Nadal.

Not in the number of Grand Slams won, no, but in this Australian Open, he managed to pass the 2nd round despite a reduced body.

The Serb dropped a set against Enzo Couacaud and is not really reassured about his physical condition, while the road to the 22nd major title is still long.

"I'm worried and I have reason to be," Djokovic said.

"The situation regarding my injury is not ideal, but I don't want to go into details," he added after eliminating Frenchman Enzo Couacaud (191st in the world) 6-1, 6-7 (5/ 7), 6-2, 6-0.

He had won while injured in 2021

“I have to accept.

My team is doing everything so that I can play all the matches, ”he assured.

Playing since the first round with a huge bandage around his thigh, he had indicated that he had been handicapped by this injury for ten days now, but without ever specifying the nature.

“At least the advantage of Grand Slam tournaments is to have a rest day between two matches.

I don't train on rest days,” he said.

Djokovic recalled that in 2021 he tore his stomach in the third round against Taylor Fritz but held on to the end and won the tournament for the ninth time.

"This time it's different and I don't know what will happen," he said.
