Last season was Mona Brorsson's best in her career with an individual podium in the World Cup and an Olympic gold in the biathlon relay.

But this year's season has started all the more heavily.

Brorsson was ill during the autumn and has had difficulty finding form.

- I cannot say that I am satisfied with what I have achieved, says Mona Brorsson at a press meeting before the World Cup competitions in Antholtz, Italy.

"Now that it is decided"

The competitions in Antholtz, which begin on Thursday, are the last before the Swedish WC squad is presented on Monday and Brorsson is aware that her performance will be decisive in the hunt for a WC place.

According to SVT's expert Björn Ferry, it will be between Brorsson and Stina Nilsson over the last WC ticket.

- It will be decided now, I see that as quite obvious.

And then how the national team management's thoughts go is difficult to say, says Brorsson.

How do you see your chances of taking a WC place?

- It feels a bit 50/50 if I'm honest.

But I have also landed on the fact that it is fine.

It's been tough and I'm not performing at the level I'd like this winter and I'm struggling with it.

Accept where I am, while constantly trying to do what I can to get better.

- I will do everything I can to prove that I deserve a place in this squad.

No performance requirement

She says that there is no result requirement from the national team management.

- No, and I am very grateful for how the national team management handles everything.

They put absolutely no pressure on me or anyone else.

The World Cup in Antholtz begins on Thursday with the ladies' sprint at 2.20 pm on SVT1/Play.

After that, the hunt for the Swedes will start on Saturday and the relay on Sunday.
