The penalty fee is a punishment for the football joint-stock company not following the rules on the publication of insider information when the then CEO emailed the company's board about the sale two days before it was made public.

"The Administrative Court considers, just like the Financial Supervisory Authority, that the content of the e-mail message from AIK Football's then CEO to the board would likely have a significant impact on AIK Football's share price.

The information was concrete and therefore not at all comparable to the rumors surrounding player sales that previously circulated in the media.

The information was thus insider information that should have been published as soon as possible according to the regulations as AIK Football is listed on the stock exchange," says councilor Mats Mossfeldt in a press release.
