Iraqi football fan Qassem Al-Jazani said, "We are one nation, and we congratulate the fans, and we congratulate the people of Basra and the Iraqi people on the 2-1 victory over the Qatari team."

Iraqi football fan Khaled Awad said: “By God, the feelings are truly indescribable. Frankly, I mean feelings. You see the people around you happy. Our ambition is to win the cup.”

Awad added, as he celebrated the victory with hundreds of other fans waving flags, dancing and enjoying the spectacle of fireworks on the Corniche in Basra, that he "hopes that Iraq will win the championship cup that it organizes for the first time in more than four decades."

This tournament attracted thousands of tourists and fans from Iraq and the Gulf countries to the city of Basra.

In Baghdad's Tahrir Square, hundreds gathered to watch the match on giant screens, and celebrated their team's victory with equal enthusiasm.

The final match of the Gulf Cup 25 will be played in Basra between Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman tomorrow.
