Yesterday came the news that SVT has bought the rights from the 2026-2032 Olympics.

- It is great that you broadcast.

It's something that everyone should be able to follow so I'm really happy about it.

Hope you continue to broadcast the Paralympics anyway, says David Lega jokingly.

- I think it means a lot, that you get to see it when you grow up and that it's not just paid services, but that all children and young people can follow sports.

That's where you get role models and get inspired, says the former Lega para-star who is also a KD politician.

"Funny that more people are fighting for the treats"

The outgoing chairman of the Swedish Football Association Karl-Erik Nilsson, 65, who is now running for the post of chairman of the Swedish Sports Confederation, RF, later this spring:

- It shows that Sweden's Television and TV sports are on the cutting edge.

The entire Swedish people like it.

It's a different media landscape than when I was growing up when there was one channel and people watch TV in a different way.

It's funny that there are more people fighting for the treats, says Karl-Erik Nilsson.

- It's fun news and fun that it will be available to everyone.

Above all, it is also good for recruitment, says Bengt Baron, Olympic gold medalist in swimming in 1980.

"Important for children and young people"

The minister with responsibility for sports Jakob Forssmed (KD) was there.

- I have no opinion on who broadcasts, but it is extremely gratifying if as many people as possible get the opportunity to follow sports events and get to see sports stars perform at the absolute highest level.

It is important for children and young people to see their idols on television, not least.

Get role models and open your eyes to new sports that you want to try.

The Olympics play a big role there, says Forssmed.

Anders Larsson sits on both the hockey association's and SOK's chair.

- It is of course pleasing news for the Swedish Olympic Committee, for our active members who will compete in the future.

But above all for the Swedish people who like sports so much that you can follow the Olympic Games for several years to come on SVT.

SVT reaches out very widely to the Swedish people, which is why it feels so very good.

It is good news for everyone, says the hockey association's chairman Larsson, who is also vice-chairman of the SOK.
