Sprint star Linn Svahn, 23, has yet to compete in the World Cup since making a comeback from a long absence due to a shoulder injury.

There are two World Cup weekends left before the World Cup squad is selected, but Svahn himself has not yet given up hope of a place in the World Cup sprint.

- It feels like the WC form is not far away, I just have to get the conditions for it, she said herself on Saturday after the sprint.

National team manager Anders Byström was not entirely satisfied with what he saw from Svahn last Saturday.

- It is clear that they would have liked to see her a little further up the list, but there are some explanations for that, he said and continued:

- I said yesterday that it is probably good if you reach the final today and show that you have something to do in the World Cup.

But now the conditions were extreme and she says herself that she was not very well underfoot.

Then it is difficult to do justice.

I still think that there were tendencies in her riding that were positive.

How do you see a possible WC for Linn Svahn?

- There is still some way to go.

It takes quite a lot there.

There is still a qualifying process until then, but a Linn Svahn in the kind that everyone wants to see before the injury, says Byström.

The squad for the next World Cup in Livigno next weekend will be selected tomorrow, Tuesday.

After that, there remains a World Cup weekend in French Les Rousses before the WC squad is nailed down.

There is a free place for the sprint as Jonna Sundling, Maja Dahlqvist, Emma Ribom and Johanna Hagström are already selected.

In addition to Svahn, for example Frida Karlsson, Moa Lundgren, Anna Dyvik and Ingrid Hallquist are current for the WC sprint.

Lundgren and Hallquist went to the quarter-finals in Falun last Saturday.

The WC will be decided in Planica from 21 February to 5 March.
