Andreas Palicka sat in the stands for the match and Tobias Thulin got to start in goal.

The 27-year-old had to start by saving three of the first four shots he received against him.

It helped Sweden quickly take a hold of the match to 4–1.

Thulin continued strongly and the Swedish defense forced mistakes from Uruguay.

At the same time, Sweden was effective going forward, with Hampus Wanne scoring a total of ten goals for a 25-8 Swedish lead after the first half.

With the substantial advantage, Sweden was able to air the squad quite a bit in the second half.

But in terms of the game, the Swedish dominance was almost even greater.

It took almost ten minutes for Uruguay to score, then the score was 31-9.

The match ended 47-12 after 22-year-old Eric Johansson had a great show in the second half.

He finished on eleven goals and controlled much of the attacking play.

After winning all three first games, games in the main round now await for Sweden where they have to face Iceland, Portugal and Hungary.
