Seattle has played its last seven games away from home.

Never before in the NHL's roughly 105-year history has a team been on an away tour that has featured so many consecutive wins.

- It is a fantastic achievement by the players to succeed in doing it.

It shows the consistency and the work that we have put in since the beginning of this away tour, said coach Dave Hakstol, according to American media.

The winning streak began on New Year's Day

In fact, Seattle hasn't lost a single game in 2023. Their streak began in the team's last home game, against the New York Islanders on New Year's Day when they won 4-1.

In total, they have won eight straight games, which is the longest winning streak in the club's nearly two-year history.

The game-winner in the night's victory was Jared McCann, who scored a hat trick for the first time in his eight-year NHL career.

- To succeed in scoring in a match like this feels huge!

We made a bit of history today, and it feels good, he says.

Adam Larsson with +7

One of Seattle's goals was scored by a Swedish player: André Burakvsky who made it 4-1 just over twelve minutes into the match, with a fine finish right in front of the goal.

Notable otherwise is that the Swedish defender Adam Larsson had a slightly improbable +7 in plus/minus statistics in the match.

- You don't see many evenings like that.

Every time he and (back partner Vince) Dunn jumped onto the ice, it was a goal going forward, says Dave Hakstol.
