In March 2014, Arsenal defeated Tottenham away from home.

Since then, the red-clad have not managed to repeat that feat in league play - until today.

The first goal in the match came after a deadly action by Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Bukayo Saka finished from a tight angle, and the ball was headed to Ryan Sessegnon.

Then the Frenchman was completely stopped and even though the ball came straight at him, he managed to scoop it into the goal instead of deflecting it away.

Extends the league lead

1-0 was a fact and before the first half was over the lead had doubled.

This through Martin Ödegaard, who finished from distance.

In the second half, Tottenham came out much more energetic and with better hits in the attacking game.

Both Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski had decent scoring chances.

But when the clock approached 90 minutes played and it didn't pay off for Tottenham, the crowd started to leave the arena.

The final minutes did not offer anything decisive either, but 2-0 were the victory figures for Arsenal.

That means Arsenal extend their lead at the top of the table, as runners-up Manchester City lost against Manchester United on Saturday.
