With his Belgian co-driver Fabian Lurquin and their Prodrive Hunter, the 48-year-old Alsatian, nine-time world rally champion, dominated the 675 km course from start to finish, including 154 km of special, between Shaybah and Al-Hofuf in the east of Saudi Arabia.

Points earned for the world championship

After seven stage victories since the start of the Dakar on December 31, the Loeb-Lurquin duo have pocketed 35 points for the world rally-raid championship, of which the race organized in Saudi Arabia is now the first round.
